Stella Athanasoulia

Stella holds an MRes in Comparative Politics of the Muslim World from the Doctoral School of the Institut d’Etudes Politiques - SciencesPo in Paris, focusing on the foreign policy of Saudi Arabia towards Lebanon. She has worked as Foreign Affairs Analyst with BBC News and as Middle East Researcher with BBC Monitoring in the UK, specialising on the MENA and Eastern Mediterranean region and the recent refugee and humanitarian crises. Prior to moving to the UK, Stella worked as a Research Assistant at the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in Brussels and as a Researcher at the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She recently returned from a short mission as Communications and Advocacy Manager in the Democratic Republic of the Congo with Doctors Without Borders. She completed her BSc in International and European Studies in Panteion University in Athens and speaks Greek, French, English, Arabic and German. She has been a member of CEMMIS since 2005.
