Katia Zagoritou (Ph.D Candidate)

After concluding my translation studies in the French Institute of Athens, she completed her BSc in European Civilization Studies at the Hellenic Open University of Patras. She is a postgraduate on Mediterranean Studies at the Department of Political Science and International Relations of the University of Peloponnese; She currently works on her dissertation on Kurdish women fighters of Rojava (Northern Syria) and the relationship between their armed struggle and their further emancipation. As a member of refugee solidarity group, she has been involved in defending refugee and migrants rights for five years in Patras. She speaks Greek, English, French, Italian and she studies Arabic.
